Ms. Tuller Jan Merrifield, born on January 15, 1947, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the age of 75.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory located at 108 Hardware Rd. in Broussard, LA. Memorial Service will begin at 6 PM, officiating will be Fr. Paul Onuegbe.

Ms. Merrifield was a native of Boulder, CO and a resident of Lafayette, LA for 1 year. She was a retired educator who taught English Literature both domestically and abroad. When she was young, she was a fashion model in Denver, CO. as well as Europe. She went on to become a hairdresser and teach modeling lessons. She then began her teaching career and taught for several years in Guam, and also on a Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona. Tuller later moved to Georgia where she pursued her Doctorate in Women’s Studies. When her father got sick, she moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona, to take care of him and began teaching, retiring from Lake Havasu High School, where she was highly regarded as a speech and debate coach. She was active in Kiwanis International for many years, and also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Women’s Organization. She moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, in 2021, to be closer to her son, his family, her two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Tuller was preceeded in death by her parents, Dorothy, and Jacques Merrifield; her brother Vaughan; and her son Thommas.

She is survived by her son, Walter Campbell and wife, Sherrie; her two grandchildren, Blake, and Allison; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, and Thommas.

The family request that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Lafayette Habitat for Humanity.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of her caregivers who helped improve her quality of life; her many friends, coworkers, and neighbors in Lake Havasu, who have shared many laughs together and made the world a better place; and to the few who knew and loved her here in Lafayette as she entered assisted living. Thank you.
